Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why should I vote for you instead of one of the major parties or other candidates?
As an Independent, I’m free from the constraints of party politics, and I can focus on the issues that matter most to our communities—without the need to answer to party leaders or special interest groups. My commitment is to the people of the Riverina, not a political party. I’ll be an honest, unfiltered voice in Canberra, representing our community’s unique needs, and I believe this is the fresh perspective we need in government.
With a background in economics, education, and community advocacy, I bring a wealth of experience in understanding the challenges we face and the expertise to create practical, evidence-based solutions. I’ve spent years working on the ground with local communities, listening to people’s concerns, and advocating for meaningful change. This experience, coupled with my independence, means I can bring real representation focused entirely on what’s best for the Riverina.
Being an independent gives me the power to work with whoever forms government, ensuring the Riverina has a strong voice in shaping policy and legislation. I won't be tied to party agendas or political ideologies, meaning I can focus purely on what’s best for our community. This unique position allows me to push for real change and secure the support our region needs. In such a critical environment, an independent voice like mine can make a real difference in delivering the outcomes we deserve.
2. What are your campaign values?
After I was endorsed by Together for Riverina as the community-backed candidate for the Riverina electorate in mid-December 2024, one of the first things I did was gather together the core people in our amazing volunteer campaign team.
These were the people who encouraged me to be a part of the process, because they could see the possibility for #realrepresentation.
We spent a lot of time in that meeting talking about what we wanted the next few months to look like, and used the “Live Your Values” card deck to determine the principles and values underlying our approach, conduct, and purpose.
3. How is your campaign being funded?
I am committed to representing the people of the Riverina and acting with transparency, integrity, and accountability. As an independent candidate, my campaign is primarily funded by grassroots supporters and donations from local residents. If you’d like to support my campaign, you can make a donation or volunteer to help out in other ways.
My campaign only accepts donations that are unconditional, untied, and free from any external influence. Donors do not have any direct input into policies, all of which are developed are developed based solely on the needs and concerns of the Riverina community.
In addition to individual contributions, our campaign also accepted the following unconditional and untied donations from crowdfunding organisations:
Regional Voices Fund, which provides financial support to community-backed independent candidates in rural, regional and remote electorates. The core values that guide the Regional Voices Fund in supporting campaigns are:
✔ Integrity
✔ Active listening
✔ Respectful community centred process
✔ Inclusivity and diversity
✔ Evidence-based policies
✔ Ambition - for a thriving and prosperous rural and regional Australia.
The $20,000 donation from RVF was received in February 2025 and was used to pay for corflutes, printing, t-shirts, and other administrative costs.
Climate 200, a community crowd-funded initiative that supports political candidates committed to:
✔ a science-based response to the climate crisis;
✔ restoring integrity to politics; and
✔ advancing respect and safety for women.
The $30,000 donation from C200 was received in February 2025 and was used to help pay for a flyer mailout through Australia Post.
Update 22/04/2025: We’re pleased to announce a further $10,000 has been donated by C200.
4. How can I get involved in your campaign?
There are many ways you can get involved! You can volunteer to help with doorknocking, events, or at polling boots during pre-poll or on election day. If you have a particular area of expertise—whether it’s in policy, event management, or just a passion for the Riverina—you can contribute your time and skills. We’re also always looking for local volunteers who can help spread the word in their communities.
5. How are you reaching voters in such a large electorate like Riverina?
I’ve been actively travelling across the Riverina to meet with residents and connect with local groups in every local government area. My team and I are also using digital platforms like social media and my website to ensure we’re in touch with as many people as possible. Whether it’s through face-to-face conversations or online surveys, I’m committed to hearing from every corner of this electorate.
6. How can I stay updated on your campaign progress?
You can stay up-to-date with my campaign through our newsletter and social media platforms, where we share updates, events, and key issues I’m working on. We believe in keeping our community informed and involved every step of the way.
This is what I love about being a community independent. We discussed, debated, collaborated, and together decided “what” we wanted to embody as a campaign and team (cards on the left) and “how” we would demonstrate that (cards on the right) and three things we felt connected the what and the how in the middle.
We’re also driven by fairness, equity, and respect for all people and communities in the Riverina electorate.
Personally, integrity and authenticity are what I seek to reflect at all times. I appreciate not everyone will like me, agree with my approach, or want to vote for me, and that’s okay. The important thing for me is that what you see is what you get - there’s no smoke and mirrors or games.
This is how we create positive change: together, grassroots democracy in action.
