About Jenny

Hi, I’m Jenny, and it’s a privilege to have been chosen by Together for Riverina as the community-backed independent candidate to run at the next Federal election.

I put my hand up because I believe the residents of the Riverina electorate deserve genuine representation and advocacy about what’s important to us, especially at this critical point in time. I don’t want to be a politician who seeks the spotlight or plays political games. Instead, I want to be a great representative who puts the people of Riverina first, is transparent, and works hard to make a real, positive difference.

I’m the youngest of 7 children, born and raised in the Riverina, attending North Wagga Primary School and then Wagga Wagga High School. I was the first in my family to go to university, enrolling at Charles Sturt University to study a Bachelor of Business in Accountancy and Economics, and then secondary teaching. I’m endlessly curious and have never stopped learning.

After several years working as a teacher, I moved into the financial services sector. For the past 20 years I’ve worked as a financial education specialist, and have run my own small business since 2018. I’ve seen firsthand how economic, financial and social systems can either support or hinder people’s wellbeing, and I think as a nation we can do better.

My favourite quote is from advocate Kate Jenkins: “Change doesn’t take time, it takes action.”

Since I moved back to Wagga 17 years ago, I’ve been involved in volunteer work to create change at a local level - from serving as the Treasurer for a not-for-profit community-run childcare, to school councils and P&Fs, several years as the President of the Wagga Women’s Health Centre management committee, a consumer advocate to improve access to birthing and maternity care in the local area, and a community representative on the Wagga City Council Floodplain Risk Management Committee.

I’m a firm believer in “service above self” and have seen firsthand the impact that good governance, professional relationships, and transparent leadership can have on creating meaningful change. And that's the leadership I will bring to Parliament.

I take seriously the responsibility to put people before politics, and to listen deeply to the needs and concerns of residents in every part of the electorate, from Cowra to Crookwell, Grenfell to Gundagai, Jugiong to Junee, Mangoplah to Marrar, Temora to Tumbarumba, Yass to Yerong Creek, and everywhere in between.

We need to ensure the Riverina electorate has a voice in Parliament that truly represents our needs and works tirelessly for our future. I am committed to being that voice, and together, I believe we can make real, lasting change for everyone in the Riverina.
